Objective
Through pedagogies of pleasure, socio-affective methodologies and tools of peace education, we intend to explore these ideas of Well-Living, full-living, joyful participation, positive powers, emotional competence, relational care and all the connections existing and to be found between these, in addition to the links to the society in which we live, the current times, social injustices and transformation and the personal health (physical, mental and communitarian) of young people and professionals working with them.
Our specific objectives are:
– Explore the concept and practice of relational care, the connections between caring for self, others, the collective, and the earth;
– Reflect on the dynamics and expressions of power in society, and life-affirming “positive” powers in response to oppressive systems;
– Develop emotional competence for personal and social transformation;
– Share and co-create strategies for “joyful” participation and social justice through art and play.
Feedback
The course “Flower Power” provided a great opportunity for the participants to explore the concepts of power in a playful environment. Throughout the course, we also discussed different types of care and their presence in our lives. The activities were organized in an eco-feminist community Garaldea EcoFeminista in the Madrid countryside, where we also were accommodated. I’m pleased with the participation in the course and all the wonderful friendships I made with other participants.
